Default Seven Mile and Swamp Creek

The day after Christmas we took a trip up Seven Mile and then played around in the snow in the Swamp Creek area at the top. Finally a little bit of snow. When I say a little bit, that's all there was...a little bit. Even in the Stump Hill section, there was only about 8" on the ground. As we got to the top in Swamp Creek section, the wind helped to provide some drifting snow.

The trail was not difficult, but it was quiet and peaceful. A much better choice than fighting the crowds during the post-Christmas shopping frenzy in town.

Yes it is and Stump Hill is only open in the winter.

Where is Stump Hill? This is the first I've heard the name.

Sevenmile will close in the spring for a few months to protect against resource damage, but it's most most of the winter. Swamp Creek is open year around

About half way across Sevenmile, there is a fork that goes off to the left. This fork is an out and back. At the end of that fork (about 3/4 mile) there is a steep climb. That climb is Stump Hill

I thought it was a short dead end to private property (gated). If it's a longer spur - it's on my "gotta check it out at least once" list!
