Default Newbie with a stock f150

Hello all! In stark contrast to the last member addition, I'm a total new comer with a stock vehicle. My name is Jake (same as handle) and recently bought a 2017 F150 SuperCrew XLT FX4 with 5.5 ft bed. That's it. No upgrades yet... want to make some payments and get to know the truck before any mods.

We're in Broomfield and have been here a few years. We moved from the East Coast shortly after my son was born because I wanted him to experience ALL THIS - that which this community is about.

No photo yet, since it is just a stock vehicle... but I'll snap one when I get a chance. Thanks!

Welcome! I also joined this group right after buying a new 2017 Ram 1500 Rebel. After scratching it up and adding a couple dents on trails I shouldn't have been on in a new full size truck, I aquired a used Jeep for wheelin' only!

x2 - Phillip wheels his f150 a lot! He started off mostly stock and wheeled a lot of good trails - and of course the modifying has begun. cheers!

    Welcome new friend !!!!
When I first signed on the 'Elephant' was mostly stock F-150 but an older one, 04.
After paying it off I started modifying now it's like an over grown jeep...LOL
The truck itself does very well. But like Matt said, some trails are very narrow and be assured that Rocky Mountain pin stripping will get ya.
But there are plenty of trails that will accommidate the width of full size trucks !!!!
I will be looking forward to wheeling with you !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks, guys. Suggestions for the first trail run I should do? Not sure how many Easy trails you all do where someone with a stock vehicle can tag along, but I've gotta start somewhere! thanks again.

And yeah, RockyMtRebel, I thought about just picking up toy Jeep, but I was due for truck upgrade and, to be honest, the wife wouldn't have allowed a toy just yet

We ran Switzerland trail a couple weeks ago. I think it should be plenty easy & wide for the F150. My Outback would have done fine on the main trail.

Kinda near Boulder If you're interested can look up on google or ask Matt/ Rockymtnrebel
I am a retired guy and am always up for good run so depending on your availability I'm ready to go now...LOL
I have only been up Switz once but truly enjoyed it.
Just a couple weeks ago and with weather forecasts there might be a tiny bit of snow there by this weekend

Switzerland Trail is pretty close (south end is up Boulder canyon until Sugarloaf Road, it's about 5 miles up Sugarloaf from Boulder canyon) and most trails are no problem for your truck! Bunce School Road is rockier and a little more challenging but should be fine also, Ironclads (off Bunce) should be fine depending on your comfort level (my Ram stock did it) but a few tight tree sections and lots of steep stuff. The big step might be a little sketchy, again depending on your comfort level. Bunce is just 20 minutes up the canyon from Lyons.

These are open year round but there are tons of awesome routes that are now closed for winter.

We go out pretty much most weekends so join us!
