    Default Yankee Hill 12/9/17

Yep, Yankee Hill is OPEN !!!!!! YAY
Planning to meet in the OHV parking lot up above Central City
After turning off 119 stay on Gregory street all the way through Blackhawk it turns into Minor then Lawrence st through Central City
Going all the way to the top of the hill, you will now be on Eureka st and Upper Apex RD then you will come up to a three way intersection
Stay to the middle road called Columbine Campground Rd, after a couple minutes you will see the lot on your right
I will be there kinda early, this is a great place to air down
Then we will start the trail at 10am
After doing Yankee Hill, we then have a couple choices
More trail run to Ninety Four and Alice or, to Fall River and Idaho Springs
Both trails lead to and or close enough to Idaho Springs that we can do the hangout with friends thing at Bojous Pizza
This is of coarse optional but we can all split the pizza and buy our own drinks
This will be a great time without broken ankles or blowouts !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It'll really be fun hanging out with the gang !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How difficult are these trails? Do I need rock sliders?
Of course this depends if I can get my brake hydroboost assembly working by tomorrow.
    2003 4Runner, 2.5" lift.
    Thanks.

The only spot that might be a concern is the lower portion of Miners Gulch mentioned above if you choose to go out that way - and there are a lot of other options to choose from. I have not run it in a couple years so not sure if its been changed with water erosion (kind of follows a stream) - but we got my cj5 and a fellow 4 door jk both on 31s down without problem. The Jk did every so slightly touch a slider a bit in one spot.

Browse this old run report for pics - again this is the hardest spot and only if you go out via Miners Gulch. May not still look like this and there are lots of other options...
