I would really like to make it. I would love to check the area, so I can plan some outings in the area next season.

map of the area, the general idea is 311 to 309 to 376; 375 to 373 to 311 back to the start with whatever spurs along the way. Bring a camera, the views of the collegiate peaks are incredible!

This site is one of the more developed ones that you can bring a camper into, but the drone shots of the area are great and theres a guy playing guitar for no reason...

just thinking about the big loop beginning at the 311 trailhead off 285; look at the map couple of posts up, plus whatever spurs look good as we go. I've done some of it, haven't done the lenhardy cutoff behind the seasonal gates yet, or 376B. There are some trails by 375 that are really just dirt roads, cool but not really worth doing unless you're looking for a campsite or a biking trailhead. The road by the granite arch is fun, the arch itself is rather unremarkable. There is a great hike to an old swedish logging camp in Davis Meadow, the trailhead off 311D is the best way IMO. Not thinking about hiking it on saturday, but it's a fun hike and just wanted to put it on your radar. The Midland Railroad tunnels are there too, right near buena vista, pretty cool to drive through. The Sailor Homestead is a pretty place with some old foundations off 375C, good place for dogs to swim and for lunch. There is a lot there, I'm open to whatever.

I am game for just a mild but slight challenge on drive, not too much of a hiker unless it is less than half an hour. I don't know the area accept for Buena Vista it's self. I do know a couple of hot springs in the area, we used to go to a lodge there just out of town for our men's conference. It has been a few years but once I'm there I'm sure I could get around ok. Never been on any trails, just around town. So what ever you plan I'm sure I'll be good with that.

Fourmile is an OHV area, but I've never heard of any type of enforcement aside from telling people about it. If you even see a ranger, and if they bother to check, the sticker is $25.25 and the money is well spent. most people do not have them, last time I was in fourmile / hancock / tincup I looked all over and only saw them on ATVs. I just spent some time at Rampart Range in our Xterra without one, even spent a few minutes talking with a ranger, no problem. However, you can buy one online and just print out your receipt if it's not there on time. Personally if you don't have it I wouldn't worry about it, but here's the links:

areas you need it at https://www.fs.usda.gov/activity/psi...12403&actid=93,

    https://www.google.com/maps/@38.9470...7i13312!8i6656

this is the start of Salt Creek rd, 435 / 436, which connects to 309 just north of Fourmile. It's not on the fourmile map because it's not part of the area. At the end of the loop we'll go right past 309 and can turn north, it's just a dirt road as far as I know but it looks nice and I'd like to see it if the gate is open. Everytime I've gone by it the gate has been closed, but on the way down to 311 in the morning we can see it from 285, and if it's open maybe end the run there. On the satellite view there is a large flat area right near the highway. Just a thought...

I may have to cancel. I destroyed my spare last week and ordered a new one, it was supposed to be here yesterday. This is a screen shot of a live chat, it's not coming until the 7th. I'm trying to find one locally today, but I ended up ordering one online because noone has one locally, so I'm not hopeful. I'll post up as I know.

I have a set of 31's and you can borrow one of my 35's if either would help you out.

I recall you're looking for a 33, but a 31 could certainly work. Stick it on the front and roll in 2WD, kicking into 4 for only the select spots that really needed it.

I can find one, probably used but good enough as a spare until you get your permanent one. what size rim?

I just got off the phone with FWP, a guy named Alex was very nice and ordered one for me, says it will be there at 3pm. I don't want to say it's done until it's in my hands, but it looks like I'm GTG.

got home too late to get it mounted at a shop, had to do it in the garage. PITA getting the last spare off the wheel, I scratched the hell out of the white paint. It's not balanced, unless it just happens to work out that way, but that won't matter on the trail.
