Default Very easy trail for 80 year old guest Sat/Sun 28/29?

My wife's 80-something grandfather is in town this weekend. We thought he might enjoy a trip up into the mountains, if the weather cooperates. He's had two surgeries in the last six months, so we want to take it pretty easy on him. Can anyone suggest a very, very easy scenic route that might be good for this? I'm sure a 3/10 trail will still be too aggressive with him, and I am not yet familiar enough with the front range to know what might be a good route for this trip.

    Thanks

Storm Mountain or perhaps Pole Hill for up North. Devil's Canyon for I-70 area.

Pole Hill has some bumps near the way in (some can be bypassed) where you can go directly to the overlooks looking west over Estes Park-ish.

Storm Mountain, IIRC, is smoother than Pole Hill, though a bit of a longer trip (no too long though) to the end where you have nice views N/E through S/W.

Oh My God Rd out of Idaho Springs - don't think snow should be an issue yet and its essentially 2wd dirt road with some cool old mining history.

Thanks Jim and James, I'll look into those. I might favor a route that we can manage in our Subaru also, so we can take everyone on the trip split between Jeep and Subaru.

OMG as James said, Guanella pass wouldn’t be bad though probably little to no leaves left on the trees. Not dirt, but Loveland pass is always good too.

Has he been to RMNP? A trek up as high as you can go could be nice. A short walk to the lake's edge for Bear Lake perhaps??

Fall River Road in RMNP if it is still open. It's dirt but any car can make it up. It tops out at the visitor center at the top of Trail Ridge Road.

Unfortunately, Fall River Rd looks to be closed for vehicles until next summer according the RMNP website:

This would probably be perfect, mostly paved now and easy access to freeway to make it there and back. I took my mother on Guanella Pass back in the day and it was too long of a day for her. Keep it relatively short, old folks tolerance and stamina are quite low despite what they may say.

Johnny Park would be another option, you could take Hwy 36 towards Estes and then hang a left on Big Elk Meadow road and start on the east side and head west, exiting right near the Meeker Park lodge and campground. Amazing views of Longs Peak and Meeker, and you can avoid most of the boulder fields to keep it an easy route.

i did this on Tuesday going the opposite way, instead of going to work

I would have to vote for OMG road. Keep in mind that he may not be able to acclimate to the elevation. It is scenic, an easy road, relatively low in elevation as it is just outside Idaho Springs, of course a fairly quick trip.

Lots of good suggestions here. I think altitude will be ok. He's been here a few days already, but we will take it easy nonetheless.

And if OMG, top down (vs. bottom up) is more interesting - more large across-valley views and less looking at mountainside.

(Not an off-road trail as you all know), but if he has never been across Trail Ridge Road, I think it is still open. My daughter and SIL were up there about a week ago. The views are wonderful and the drive is easy. You could start on the RMNP side and come back down through Grand Lake. Lots of places to stop for pictures.
