    Default Barbour forks 10/20/17

This friday my neighbor and I want to go up to Barbour forks in Idaho Springs
I've been trying to get maps and have failed. Wondering if anyone who knows the trail could go with us as I have only ran it once
Looks like it's still open as of now, 10/16/17
I remember how to get there just don't feel real confident once on the trail
We will be leaving Denver around noon

You should have no problem - the all trails map from Chris is good. Driving it CCW is generally a bit harder as you you are going up the the more challenging parts. There are only a couple turns to worry about...As you are going in when you get to the first fork in the road and the FR4x4 sign on the left, take the right fork across the little creek. Follow the main loop all the way around. After you have started the main hill climb, there main road turns (sort of a small switchback) to the right - its easy to accidentally keep going straight but it peters out pretty quick. There is a FS carsonite sign at that junction, but at clean-up it was broken in half - we tried to prop it up on a tree and notified the FS. In other words, take the choice that goes uphill. After the long hill climb and you are get to the top with the tight squeeze between the trees and rock on right - take the hard left fork (probably a multipoint turn in the long truck) - there should be no option to go uphill anymore (both right and left are flat). Going right will also peter out after a bit and its hard to turn around. Follow the road all the way back around. There are a couple small forks but everything rejoins quickly so you can't really get lost. Go past the shelter in the open field (stay left and above the shelter - if you turn right and go down past the shelter that is private property - its marked). When you get to the creek, take the hard right turn and you are almost out the way you came in.

This is a pretty straight forward trail. I ran it in a bone stock 2011 Nissan Frontier Pro4X and just ran it in 4x4 low without locking the rear diff at any time. It did have some goodyear AT tires on it. I ended up with a couple small scratches in the lower bumper plastic on the passenger side below the fog light. Couldn't see them when standing up and looking. We ran it CCW

This was the first trail I ran with FR4x4 after I joined up.
It was before the modifications on my truck
I'm sssoooo looking forward to running it lighter and larger ground clearance
Should be fun for sure !!!!
I'd like to get to know the trail better than I do now
It'd be great if you could come along
