    Default Adopt-a-Trail Report

This is to get the thread started...Adopt a Trail for 9/23/2017. It was an overcast, misty, drippy and finally rainy day. The BF crew finished up around 3pm and it started raining pretty good as we were airing back up. Overall, the clean-up was pretty easy - I think we only took out 5-6 buckets of trash. The run was a bit slippery so there was bit of sliding and spinning in a couple spots.

Ran into Brad (who led DC) and Mike (who went with NAXJA clean-up on Cascade and Saxon) at the FS ranger station as we were all returning some tools. Glad to see everyone was off as the hard rain came. Sounds as though there was one vehicle (Swank?) that had a little issue, so hopefully he got home safe. Post up and let us know...

I'll get some pics up when I dry out...

Well Brad, Rob (66cobra), Mike (Swank1975), Michael (Terrafied), and I did the Devil's Canyon trail cleanup today. Overall it went well. Wet, misty, great fall colors, and a few people on the trail. I'm guessing we can back with 5 or 6 buckets full plus a couple of trash bags full. Overall the area was in pretty good shape. Couple of areas where jerks didn't pick up their brass, but overall pretty good. And it went great right up until about 1/2 miles from the exit when one of the Rovers decided to blow a ATF hose. Mike and Barbie had to leave the Rover on the side of the road and hitch a ride home with Michael. They plan to either get it towed out or get a trailer up there tomorrow. We will see. Even some new fresh snow on the mountains in the distance.

We towed if home tonight. It's sitting in front of the neighbors house on trailer. Don't do the weight math of a range rover on a trailer.

Some pics of the Barbour Fork group - remembered to bring Jen's camera along finally. The group included Jason and friend Pete (Jaybroncos30) in the 4runner, Tyler (Riotcake) in the yellow TJ jeep, Chris (Getaklu - finally figured that out) in the blue JK jeep, and Levi (Carpenle) in the red XJ.

Thanks to everyone who braved the rain today. It’s commendable to volunteer in the first place, exceptional to stick it out through the weather.

It was wet but fun with a good group of people. Nice to have met and run the trail with them.

A couple of more pics as well.

Ok now that I've slept. I want to say a huge thank you to those who helped us down the trail and with much needed advise and razzing. A special thank you to Michael for waiting on the price gouging tow quote in Idaho springs then running us home on his way back to the springs. You guys rock.

"Only" when in reference to the amount of trash hauled out sounds like a good problem!

Glad the Rover got home ok, even more glad no one messed with it when you have to leave it behind.

I was on a cleanup in spirit with y'all! I must have picked up about 1/2 a yard bag full from a couple of campsites and along the North Fork of the Swan trail.

Barbie took a handful of pics also I'll work on getting those loaded. I should really get the cooler and trash out of the rover. At least it's been cool. Another thanks to Brad for guiding us through Devil's Canyon in the heavy fog. I was turned around on where I though we were toward the end of the day. I owe him a new roll of fusion/repair tape.
