    Default Boreas Pass

    Hey all,

Still fairly new around but was curious if anyone else was interested in running Boreas pass and another (hopefully more technical, but equally scenic) trail in the upcoming weekends. Really would like to do Boreas as I hear it's absolutely beautiful this time of year, but it's a bit of a drive from Fort Collins without hitting up another in the area as well.

One of my favorite scenic drives is to go to Georgetown and drive Guanella pass (not a trail but very scenic!) to Grant then jog down 285 to Como (Boreas pass) and come back to Breckenridge and spend the rest of the afternoon there. If I did not have so much planned for the weekend I'd join ya, But some little time left for landscaping projects.

You can make a loop with Boreas Pass and Georgia Pass connecting a few short miles on pavement on each end.

I may be interested, I would suggest Georgia as well. Boreas is a tourist route, I did take it earlier this year. The Breck side was packed with cars and bicycles. If I were to do it again, not far from the top there are a few trails that branch off and end up in Breck. These may be better options. I came down from Jefferson/Tarryall Reservoir area today, the aspens in many places are just past their peak.

We made the mistake of going to Breckinridge on some HOV trails from Como/Selkirk camp ground and then came back on Boreas during some bike event had to take it slow was painful. It would have been better to come back the way we came but we had a novice with us and they did not want to it that again, I love that area has a lot of dispersed camping sites
