    Default Sept 2-4?

Just seeing what interest exists for a run Sept 2-4 (Labor Day weekend). Might be a good weekend for an overnight trip or something a bit further away from the front range with some dispersed camping. Might even consider a trip out to San Juans or Moab, although guessing camping/motels might be a bit difficult at this point.

I would be up for MSV --> Coney Flats run, although would prefer an early morning start to avoid others.

im also interested in whatever everyone else might be, wouldn't mind going further out either

I like MSV Coney a lot - but would be concerned about crowding on a holiday. One reason i was thinking of getting a little farther away. Lets see what else develops - my wife suggested a backpacking trip for the weekend as well so we'll see how things develop.

Hey, what do you guys think of the Red Feather Lake area...... There is a 3-trail loop called "Mud Loop", accessed via Poudre Canyon (Hwy 14) and located between Rustic, CO and Cameron Pass. I think this route could be run either way...

Mud Loop --- Starts with Seven mile Creek (12 mile straight thru near Rustic, CO...rated 3/3), followed by Bald Mountain (13 mile straight thru....rated 4/5) and ending with Green Ridge (14 mile straight thru near Cameron Pass.... rated 4/4).

I'm guessing this will be much less busy that front range trails since it really is out in the middle of nowhere. Cameron Pass area is incredibly beautiful, as well. Kelly Flats trail is right in the same area also, although maybe a little too challenging.

Just throwing out some ideas, would love to get something planned!

The hardest parts of Kelly Flats are totally optional. The end of Kelly Flats is just up the road from Sevenmile Creek. The are a few long and deep mud holes on Greenridge right now. A guy in a my club hydro-locked his TJ last weekend.

Looking like I am going to try and squeeze a backpacking trip on Fri-Sun which would leave Mon open for wheeling. I would definitely be interested in the mud loop - be a bit of a longer day (especially considering I would probably be round tripping from Denver in the old CJ). If you guys decide some other day is better for turn-out, by all means go for it. I would also consider it for a day trip the following weekend (7/9 or 10) - I know there is a Argentine Pk run then, which I would run, but I've run it quite a few times so willing to head north.

Monday might be the best day for me too, not confirmed yet but if a few of you are interested I could probably plan on it. it's a two hour drive for me to get there, then doing the mud loop and then driving closer to 3 hours back so yes it would be a long day! I could get there by 8am though, I'm an early riser

I'd post it up Jim...I intend to go but it might be a day or so before I confirm on the calendar (finalizing other weekend plans). I think it helps with turnout if its posted a bit early. Already dreading returning to Denver along I-25 on Monday evening...but it will be worth it!

Looks like I'll take family camping sat and sun up in drake area. So will likely stay local and run johnny park, caribou or some others in the area. So monday run might be a long shot for us. I'll confirm that by tomorrow.

I've gotta check with the wife but would love to do this if I can! It would make for a very long day (4-5 hours just getting there and back) so it's not a given that I'll be given approval but I will confirm here in the next few days ;-)

What do you guys think is a good meeting spot for this? There isn't much cell service in Poudre Canyon - although maybe far enough up canyon by Rustic there is? Could meet in Rustic at the turn-off onto CR69 or Ted's is quite a ways down canyon (45 min or so), but its got gas and cell service. I am happy to start early, but not sure what is too early. Either 8am at Ted's or maybe 8:30 at Rustic with wheels rolling on CR69 by 9am?
