I need to do a easy/moderate trail run on Saturday. Not particular on what trail so long as it's not too far from Denver. Maybe Slaughterhouse, Barber Fork, or something similar?

Also interested. For me it'll certainly be a shake down run. Saturday as well.
Don't really care which trail
May just be the 2 of us, but I'll add to the calendar.

Sounds good. I had the jeep out for a first drive last evening - look'n good!
Been driving mine every day for about a week now. Should be fine. Just going to replace the front brake lines tonight and thats the last pressing repair on my list (for now).
So I'm thinking we run Barbour Fork on Saturday since you are coming from up north... maybe meet around 10:00 at the trailhead?

All sounds agreeable to me. I've never been to Pickle Gulch and I think it's in the general area. Your choice - I'm easy to join in. Poking about TrailsOffroad - Cascade Creek is near / just south of Idaho Springs (never been - no idea - just toss'n it out). I'd be curious to "visit the spurs" at Devil's Canyon.
Essentially - I'm game - you pick it. 10a trailhead makes things easy for me (could do 9a but am happy with 10a - night owl)
cascade links with saxon mtn.
so you could go over from the Idaho Springs side and come down the George Town side.
the big slide on saxon has been cut back.
it was near 5 foot tall!
saxon is a small boulder fest so if you want to know whats lose or could come lose it will find it!
side note the fire works show in George Town was well over 30 minutes long. and one could park one on of the lower switch backs and see them perfectly

Crazy- You call me crazy, but you wouldn't know crazy if Charles Manson was eating Fruit Loops on your front porch. Suiciadl tendancies- intatutionalized
Barbour Fork and Pickle Gulch are not really in the same area in my opinion.
Jim (July 13th, 2017)
pickle is north end of the area.

But not that far north. No worries - whatever Brian runs with is fine by me.
I'm interested. Got to get a couple of things done tomorrow. Don't really care what trail. Just let me know where we are meeting up and when.
I'm interested in Cascade Creek also, but I'd rather stick with something familiar until more confident in my recent repair work. I think I got lost/turned around back on Cascade a few years ago, but not sure. So long as nobody is set against it, lets plan on the trailhead to Barbour at 10:00.

You are talking about Barbour Fork (same one we cleaned up on the 24th.) The back side will give you a really good workout. Assuming we take the loop counterclockwise, I would rate the hill climb at a good 5 of 10 right now. You will definitely shake your rig out. Parking Lot for Barbour Fork is 39.71517, -105.55483 10am it is..
Experienced Stock Rubicon make this trail? I have no problem with rocks if I have a spotter - Funtreks seems to think it is ok for an experienced driver
Sean you will be just fine. I did this trail 90% in 2 wheel drive.
There are some big rocks if you want to play but nothing you cant handle.
good to see you are getting out

Haven't run this for a couple of years but should be pretty easy with a Rubi.
