Default Looking for a Family SUV

I'm looking for a SUV for my daughter, Honda Pilot, Toyota 4Runner/Highlander or similar. Craigslist has lots but prefer not to buy something that has 200-300,000 miles on it. If you know of anything please let me know.

Prefer - Stock 4x4, 3rd row seat, very good condition, $5,000 range.

    TIA!

Well I recommend the Toyota 4runner. They're hard to find with low miles and decent prices though.

A little bias, but x2 on the 4runner however my Jeep Grand Limited was a very nice vehicle as well (to drive), except for the mechanical issues. I will keep an eye out! 5k range is going to be a little hard to get anything decent.

$5000 range with a 3rd row and not with 200,000+ miles. I doubt you'll find a Toyota or Honda with those limitations.

Expedition or Suburban would satisfy that though.

Didn't you just get rid of a Suburban? I'd look at ford explorers, they made soooo many of them that the prices are fantastic. Great vehicles too. My DD is an old ford and it's reliable, but when I do need parts they are always in stock and always cheap.

Just and example: 2007 Ford Explorer 4x4 v8 107k miles (great condition) - $6000 (Denver

Yes, the Suburban sold quickly and we got a great price for it. That got rid of a loan and now my daughter needs a replacement w/o financing. She's going through a divorce and needs a reliable & affordable replacement. I've been limiting myself to makes I'm familiar with but may have to drop that idea and look at some like the one you linked.

I'm interested in what people may suggest as a reliable make & model. We're not in a hurry as she's driving Barb's car these days.

Thanks for for the nudge Paul!

Early 2000's Subaru wagon? No 3rd row seat but AWD and lots of space for around the price your looking at.

Oh sorry I missed the 3rd row part. 4runner isn't a good fit there.

I'd also look into Dodge Durangos. We had a 1999 for about 6 years and it treated us pretty well for the time we had it. Space, power, body on frame, 3rd row, etc.

    Thanks guys.

Too small, ideally would fit 4 kids and a 90 lb dog.

Third row seat is preferred but not required. Obviously I like 4Runners but finding one in her price range just brings up 200-300k miles. While that's a great indicator of reliability it's not something I want her to buy.

I'll look at domestic brands I guess.
