Default Pickle Gulch Saturday May 13

Went a little up Pickle Gulch today, it's muddy but not really snowy. There were a few vehicles up there and some people shooting. By next weekend it should be pretty clear, thinking about heading up on Saturday. Just a heads up, there is some trash around the trailhead area and likely further down the trail; since Every Frontrange4x4 Run is a Clean Up Run™ we'll probably have some junk to pull out. The pic I posted is a mattress infront of a No Camping sign that is covered by a ripped sheet and surrounded by trash.

So that aside, Pickle Gulch is an awesome trail. It has some great obstacles, old cabins, playgrounds and just some spectacular views as far as the divide. Post up if you're interested, I'm thinking maybe 9-10 am at the trailhead? It's easy to get to, it's off 119 north of Blackhawk, South of Golden Gate Canyon rd, and it has a big sign marking it.

just FYI, the top of the trail will most likely have lots of snow. we went up the Apex side on Saturday for a photoshoot and some guys in a RZR were coming back down saying there was too much snow for their liking.

not saying you shouldn't go, but don't 100% expect to make it the whole way through.

I wonder if the tree brigde is still up?
anyone see if the tree is still standing on the post?
Man that was a fun trip.

jeep is getting much needed TLC so trail time will be soon and tons of it!

If you still wanted to go, I'm interested. I have to drive someone to the airport Saturday morning, so I couldn't meet until later in the morning. Let me know here or on my phone.

Why don't you go to Yankee Hill? I have a big day today and don't want to commit, I'm a maybe for Yankee but most likely will go.
