Bunce School Road to gate and back, Ironclads loop

Met up with nick this morning at Bunce school and Hey 7. We ran The 105 all the way to the closed gate . Went through some deep puddles and snow - coming back thru the biggest puddle I hit skid plate on the exit but made it thru no problem. Headed back and then hit the Ironclads loop. Did it the suggested counter clockwise way and snapped a few pics along the way. On the way up we bypassed the large rock that most people avoid, did the loop and snapped a couple pics of nick coming down the medium step at the bottom of the loop (unavoidable).

Then we checked out that large rock ledge on the way down and nick decided to give it a try. He cruised up to the rock wall and turned sharp left and the right front tire grabbed the rock and he climbed up pretty smoothly. Then a little slipping of the rear right tire but he climbed up pretty quick - impressive!

I couldn't leave without giving it a shot so I did..... my first approach was too far to the left and I was slipping so I backed up and went the same way nick did. He spotted me and I was able to climb up without too much trouble (peg legged my right rear wheel a bit more than nick) but was able to lift up onto the big rock. Slipping a little to get to the very top and scraped a skid plate a little bit the truck jumped up and I made it too!

I'd like to see pix of this "large rock". I thought I had been to Ironclads enough to remember the features but this one escapes me.

I never thought I would do this but nick inspired me to try!

nick and his Goodyear Duratrac tires clawed up that rock a lot easier than I did! He killed it.

I'm planning on replacing these 33" AT's with some 35" Nitto Ridge Grapplers at some point (just need to buy some adjustable links to raise my front end enough to accommodate the big tires).
