Default Backroads to the Anniversary Run

I've been looking for a fun way to get there and found these videos, basically 285 to Foxton Road / Newton Park, Past Renyolds Park, Left on South Platte River Drive, then down to Deckers & the run.

South Platte River Drive from the intersection with Foxton Rd:

Those definitely work - I spend quite bit of time along foxton, waterton and south platte chutes section of the south platte river and north fork of the south platte kayaking in the summer.

As an alternate suggestion, and to avoid the 285 section - you can use hwy 67 out of sedalia. It goes past RRR and eventually turns to dirt near Sprucewood. There is actually a junction at Sprucewood and going left will keep you on 67 and eventually merge with the south platte river road you mention above and then down to Deckers and so on. You can als go to the right at the Sprucewood fork and leave hwy 67 and get on Pine Creek Rd which will put you on the south platte river rd further north and near Twin Cedars.

Just more options for some who might be interested...

The other way goes through sadaila out past rampart range you can go left or right at the form in Sherwood. The right takes you down the 7% grade to south Platte river rd.
The left takes you up and over the hills on dirt and brings you out 5 miles from the deckers crossing.
We take the left as there seems to be far less people up there.

I will post plans for caravan as we get closer.

I usually take 67 from Sedalia to RRR but have never gone past RRR on 67. I might take RRR up from the meetup and loop back that way on 67, but to get there I'd rather do 285 than 25 / Santa Fe.

    I feel ya Paul.
We live on the south end of town so it works nice for us.
285 adds a lot of miles for us. Its a nice drive and all but longer.

    So the loop I'm considering:

Foxton / South PLatte to Deckers, 67 to Rainbow Falls; then to loop back FS348 looks subaru easy, RRR up to 67 to Pine Creek Road back to South Platte / Foxton. Should make a beautiful run!

Some good comentary along the way:
