I agree with Chris. I learned to drive on 4x4 trails. I have never had a locker. I've easily driven over obstacles that I've watched people with lockers spin all 4 wheels.

Lockers have a place, but knowing how to pick the right line is much more important.

I highly suggest staying with a selectable locker which in your case sticks you with ARB. Maybe OX makes something but I figured Brad woulda said so. Quality installation, should work great for years. Also agree with the others that lockers will get you in trouble if you are not already familiar with your rig and how it performs. I would be sure you have more than enough recovery gear before making the locker venture. I run the Eaton locker in my truck and typically only use front locker to get me out of trouble, and the rear at obstacles.

I've never heard anyone regret locking their rig. I have an open rig (2013 Xterra) with traction control and my LJ with nothing but truetracs and there is no comparison. Wheeling is more fun than stucking!!

    Good info here: http://gbrutah.com/product-catalog/c...ials-overview/

I agree with both side on the this coin,
Lockers will be an improvement over stock.
Yet being very well experienced with your rig is a huge deal.
Lockers can get you into trouble as in on your top.

For your disco I would pony up for the ARB as you drive this on the road
The disco 4x system won't like the Detroit on payment.

As your disco is a heavy rig you will see tire wear faster as well if you use the Detroit.

ARB is the go to selectable. Quality product for sure.

I would opt for a bigger compressor.
The ARB ones are ok, but a constant duty Viar with a 4 gallon tank is your best option.
And at about $400 on eBay it's a good price for sure.
This will give you the on board air for tires and tools.

    According to GBR: http://gbrutah.com/product-catalog/c...tial-carriers/

"Detroit Lockers have traditionally been considered suitably only for hard core off roaders because they were noisy while cornering and they had a reputation for affecting the handling of the vehicle on road. This is the case for part time 4 wheel drive applications but a vehicle with full time four wheel drive such as all late model Rovers, all on road handling variations are almost imperceptible. These are for rear diffs only except in dedicated off road vehicles or strict competition vehicles. These differential carriers are much stronger than stock carriers, in the range of 4 times stronger, hence eliminating the most common mechanical failure in Land Rovers differentials – the two pinion cross shaft."
