Default The Reason for my Jeep (Harriet)

As you all know, I am a wannabe off-roader and really didn't buy this Jeep to do gnarly trails. I got her and built her with almost a single focus in mind at first. To get me in and out of the Sand Wash Basin to be able to take photos of "my" beloved wild horses. Memorial Day weekend is my regular pilgrimage out there. Hopefully this explains it

Nice to hear you are happy with your jeep Kyle.
We do hope to see you out for a few trail rides.
You should come out for the run at pickle gultch.
You will get some nice shots and have a good time with the group.
You will also get a good experience with the jeep.

    Nice pics

Great photos! I find the area interesting in the pic's. The landscape looks very much like my property down near San Louis. On my land i have seen several herds of wild horses every time I visit there. One morning they where investigating my camp. It's funny, always see deer and elk with the occasional moose while up in the high Country, but it takes some getting used to seeing wild horses out in the country.

Kyle, your photos are the best I've seen, ever. My other "hobby" is horses, and I've seen many other professional pictures of the SWB horses, and wow, they're nothing like yours. Do you sell them? I've wanted to go to the Sand Wash (tied in with a small Jeep/camping trip with my family) for the same reason (not professional photos, but photos and the experience). I can't even imagine how full your heart is after being out there.

Wow! How can I not know about Sand Wash Basin? If I brought my grand daughter there she would probably never leave.

I think a lot of us would like to see more pics!

    Hi Heather!

Thank you for the very kind words. My other "hobby" is horses too! I had to put Harriet a bit on a slower track (I was have having too much fun buying parts and the budget had to slow that pattern down a bit! I had blown all I had squirreled away for her and am rebuilding that cache! LOL I have a complete exhaust system to install this winter. I bought and boyfriend painted a "new" hood for me and the hood release cable busted because the little release levers were so rusted. SO a new one of those needed to be ordered. Arg! So I have some assembly to get started on. Then we get to address the electric gremlin that plagues the passenger door and explore the AC/Heat. Something seems to be disconnected inside because the only "blow" you get is from the defroster vents.

Ah, the love of an old truck! Eh?

Now back to photos and horses! I am happy to share some links with you to more SWB photos! I am not sure this forum is the place to do it -- I don't wanna break any forum rules and it has been a while since I read them. I make at least one trip out every spring to see the SWB horses. I love, love, love them. Did you know they are doing a very controlled and humane gather? I can fill you in off this forum if you want to know more. Private message me and I can share those details and some photo links. I do sell photos and am happy to produce any one you might want. They look awesome on stretched canvas and that ships so much easier! If I could quit my "day job" and just do photography I would be in BLISS. Me, Harriet, a dog and my camera! Or when the trail wasn't suited for Harriet (because of MY limitations, NOT hers) I would hop on a horse to get into the Wilderness where no machine may go except a camera!

Thank you again for the kind words. I love photography and I love these horses!

    Kyle

Hey Kyle, hope you get the electrical figured out....
Your AC/heat could be the cable from the slide to the blend door.
It won't be fun to get to, the dash will need to come apart.....sorry.

By the way we ( a few members and I ) are boycotting timbuck3
Lets just say he talks the talk but cannot walk the walk.
Parts sure he has tons of them....trust him to do any kind of major work....NO
Not just no but....HELL *#÷$ NO!
