4/16-17 chinamans old farts run

a group from co4x4 is putting on the old farts run again this year. dates are 4-16 and 17. running chinamans and carnage each day. i plan on going. would anybody else be interested? at this point i will be alon and planning to camp at the trailhead. i think most others are either camping at the bv koa or getting hotels.

don't have to be an old fart to attend. i don't consider myself one at 35. chinamans is a good trail that is fairly difficult but easy enough that the 33-35" tire crowd should be able to complete it.

Hey Alex, I think I fit that profile and those are two trails I've never done and don't mind camping. I'd be interested in going?

Sweet. I'm planning on heading out mid day Friday. Not sure if I will try carnage as it is pretty nasty. I have walked the exit and would definitely have to winch it. But the rest may be doable

Mid day Friday works for me, and yea Ill wait for carnage once I swap Axles and maybe mid week vs heavy weekend traffic. Let me know what camping cost and anything else we need to split. Ill text you if you number hasn't changed.

Carnage is .9 miles of wheeling heaven/hell.
Its to be one of the hardest in the state.

I might look into going. I have always liked Chinamans. Only place my Explorer has hit rock.....

it was a litle slick and as I pulled up on right front, she slid into that rock on the left rear. As I pulled on up the hill it leveled out, moved away from the rock and I never touched anything else (CB antenna it right behind where it hit)...

Larry Hull (Warrlord) and I were running it this day.

Ran carnage several times back in the day with my old rig pictured. This is part of carnage. Not to discourage or be a buzzkill but if your going to run it consider being prepared for breakage. First time we ran it a Toyota had broken his rear pinion. Otherwise a very fun trail! I ran it around 7 times and EVERY time I had to hook on the exit. Oh and the V-notch is fun too

I personally have no interest in running carnage at this time and will be doing Chinaman although I would like to see the Carnage trail since I'll be up there.

Due to the weather forecast pretty much everybody is backing out of this ride. Me included.

Planning on making another attempt to run Chinaman's next weekend. I'll probably head down to bv mid day on Friday the may 13
