You are welcome to come with us, click on the calendar and confirm. We might change the meeting place to Keystone if it is closer to some others.

Please join in - I love seeing large rigs that can pull mine out if needed. But no guarantee my little jeep will pull you out

Glad my presence will put you at ease a bit, haha! I can't commit just yet, have to wait until tomorrow for a solid yes.

EDIT: Got official clearance for Sunday...it's on!

Hey guys, I just saw this. Looks like a lot of fun. I'm 80% and just need to insure I complete my work today and it doesn't lay over. I'll know for certain later today.

Good luck with work...hope to see you there.

I did finish my pertronix install and it seems to be working fine. Will have an old points distributor for back-up just in case.

Good job, hopefully it will save you some headache! next is the fuel injection right?

Not sure how much the pertronix will be noticeable - the new points were working really well for the last few months. I think the real improvement is not having to monitor, maintain and replace the points on a frequent basis. Also, I think as I continue tuning the carb it will run better at low rpm which is helpful when crawling offroad. I am also hoping that it might improve fuel mileage a bit as well. But if it just continues to perform at the same level as the points but doesn't need maintenance, then that is an improvement. I did just take it on some errands around denver for 40 miles including some highway cruise and it seems to have a bit more throttle response, especially at high rpm (might just be placebo affect as well). But nothing will solve the offroad fuel issues inherent with a carb - fuel injection (or throttle body injection) is the only solution.

Next up is the second fuel tank and at some point will have to either modify or figure out how to finish my rock sliders (one of the angle iron pieces has a bend in it I can't get out). Fuel injection is a dream...maybe in a few years after new tires, maybe better brakes up front (11 inch drums or disks), steering upgrade, granny gear 4speed and or tera low transfer case gears. Of course, if the carb goes bad between now and then, the plan might change...

I'm in. Just threw a code for a glow plug, though it shouldn't be an issue. Louis, care to meet in Monument? James, sounds like a busy winter ahead..

Hopefully the fires aren't going to be an issue. Looking forward to another great day with you guys.

Tim- if weather and time allow, there is a one mile hike up to Chihuahua lake at the end of the 4wd road. You can also hike a mile or so up the CDT to the top of the ridge above warden gulch if looking to mix in more than just wheeling.

    Tim

I would love to go back there unfortunately I have some important work to finish in the next few days. I'm also taking an overseas trip and will not be back until Oct 27th, bummer, for sure by that time it will be plenty of snow up there!
