Val n I went ahead and ran the trail last night with our neighbor and his family. They were in their Jeep Commander(all stock), we didn't run into anyone else the whole time on the trail except folks camping.
We was headed up 119 in the typical slow Friday night traffic. Mostly uneventful until 2 does leaped the guardrail at full speed the first one cleared the front of the truck ahead of us but the second wasn't as lucky. It plowed right into the driver side door head first, sad to see, as we made our way around it she looked like she may have been pregnant.
Once on to the trail it was fairly uneventful. Trail has become a bit rougher than what I remember it to be. A few mild ruts, more loose rock than anything. Put the Willys in low range one time for a steep down heel desent. Neighbors Commander performed well for a stocker, he did bottom out a couple times.
Finished WM early enough that we ran Mammoth Gultch plus part of Apex. Apex has no trail markers anymore so its easy to get lost in the dark, luckily I was able to remember each cross section.
In the end it was a great night for some seat time in the mountains.
