I'm interested in the Fourmile area by Buena Vista, has anyone been there?

Debbie and I was in the area last year although we only did some of the trails down their. Lenhardy Cutoff has a lot of whoopty whoos, I still want to go back and do Salt Creek and finish Chubb Park. There is plenty of camping spots along the trails.

and a cool site from a couple of boondockers http://www.twohappycampers.com/boond...our-mile-area/
Got down to this area for a single night on Friday, it was great. We drove up Shields Gulch / 315 and saw some incredible dispersed sites, but by Friday morning when we arrived they were all taken. A cool feature of this area are the kiosks with maps and a really good flyer with maps, descriptions and history of the area. I've never been to a trail in CO that had that before! We followed the map and turned left at the Lenhardy Cutoff / 376 and found a gorgeous spot just past the 376A turnoff. The dispersed spots are very far from each other, we could hear some music and voices occasionally, and some ATVs went around, but none of it was a problem at all and we couldn't see anyone. As late as 10pm other vehicles came around looking for sites, it's pretty popular, and for good reason. Also, most of the trails are sandy, not regular Colorado rocky roads, even with my trailer we were flying compared to most trails. I wish we didn't have to be back in Denver, it's a fun area and I highly recommend it.
timelapse of our camping area, you can see my Jeep in the lower right at the beginning. It starts facing the collegiate peaks and finishes with a view over 376A.

Looks like an amazing time! Too bad the trip had to be short.
and I have to say again how much I love that trailer!

Great video! What are you using for pivot?

That is my GoPro shooting every 5 seconds for an hour on a simple homemade rotating rig- gorilla pod (XL); taped a hole for it's quick release on the bottom of a kitchen timer, put a GoPro mount on the top. I can't control the rotation speed, and it can't handle anything heavier than the GoPro (and needs to be as level as possible or it jams up) but otherwise I like it a lot.
Cool! Resourceful! I have been looking at the radion by alpine labs.
two more videos of campsites at fourmile
the Tacoma in this one looks really familiar
and this one is by the climbing area
and Zidecars!
Interesting area but that applies pretty much to all of BV. We'll be there for a week, leaving Tuesday.
