Hey everyone, was interested in a shop smith as I am looking into getting into woodworking. Would also be willing to look at other woodworking tools. Here is what I already have and don't need:
router
jig saw
circular saw
Drill press
thanks!

Unsure how much you know or have researched. Just some tips from when I bought mine last Summer. Do a CL search for both Shopsmith and Shop Smith. They get listed both ways by people. Avoiding the 1st generation is a good idea. They were more cumbersome and didn't come with a base. The 2nd generation was a major step up. Try to get as many accessories when you buy one. I think I paid $200 for the entire setup that I bought, and sold the bandsaw attachment for $150 as I didn't need it. It is fairly common to see a setup for $150-$300, so be patient. The people who want thousands are unrealistic, unless it has TONS of accessories and it brand new.
Here is a good one to consider:

You will absolutely love this thing..

Here is one for $125. The planer is worth more than the $125 price. The motor is dead, but basically it is a free machine if you sell the planer.

looking at craigs - thee is a free one with a motor that works, but needs repairs, and a cheap one that needs a motor. If I thought this wouldn't just add to the list of things I own that I MIGHT use, I'd go for it. Looks cool.
