I noticed the signs we put up in the spring are coming off due to the weather. Wonder if there is a better way to protect them.

Nice, I have been trying to get the signs printed and he told me he was going to take care of it, even offered to come up after the last clean up run and post them but got no response. I know he has his hands full. Let's hope we can get them before the next one. Should have a date set tomorrow. Just got home from a very long weekend out by the north sand hills with northwest overland.
I'll be seeing a fried (I hope) in the next couple days that should be able to print them. I'll let you all know. Something as simple as getting couple signs printed shouldn't a big deal.
Jerry, maybe a sheet of plastic stapled over the Stay the Trail sign?
I forgot I had a bunch of Stay the Trail stickers in my truck today.

Are we allowed to use plastic to put ver the sign. I seem to remember that wasn't allowed, but I could be wrong. Wouldn't be the first time.
I have no idea but did notice the sign looking pretty bad. Maybe Brad can check with Nick, it might be bad to have plastic ending up tearing off and littering the trail or getting tangled up with wildlife.

Hoe about doing a waterproof laminating sign?
I'd think any plastic would have issues with UV degradation. If there's some treatment that would survive the sun and rain - that'd be tops.
The previous signs were laminated. Nick had plenty of the stay the trail posters. As for our adopt a trail sign laminated would be best. The sun plus the elements are just hard on the posters.
I just heard from Nick, he has the signs ready to be picked up at the FS office.

He emailed me.
Tallying up the possible dates it is dead even. So I am going for the 20th. That gives us 1 month to get things ready.
Tom (August 19th, 2014)

i can try and get the 20th off.
The 20th is good for me, provided nothing comes up.
Just a heads up! This is a week from this Saturday. I am planning to have some coffee and donuts for those that want to get there early.
I also forgot to put in the trail run info to please bring buckets for more dangerous items like glass or other sharp objects. They are also easier to carry and fill up. I have heavy duty contractor bags we can empty buckets into.
As for Barbour fork trail leader the only person to throw their hat in the ring is Paul. Thank you Paul!
May be able to attend - would it be helpful to bring the Tacoma for the bed space? The old CJ doesn't have much room for trash bags (assuming it is even running). If I can go I would prefer Devils with the Taco.

Tacoma would definitely be better. Also we have to pack out all the trash ourselves as the forest service does not allow us to use their dumpster.
As I didn't remember the prior runs, I'll be removing the back seat in the YJ to make room.
Signed up Devil Canyon - will bring Tacoma for extra space. I saw basic what to bring list - let us know if there is anything else or tools needed (will try to find a couple buckets).
Just to be sure - exit 240 is the Mt Evans hwy 103 (Chicago Creek Rd) exit?
