Decided to do "the loop" as I call it. My house is on the Alice side of FS353 Kingston Peak, we start there and loop around to Yankee and home. Around noon we atv'ed to the trailhead then the rain and thunder came over the divide, turned back to just get the Jeep . Ended up hitting the trail around 3:45. Kids love the fog and that's what most of the ride was like today. Was a group of Toys at Rock house so we went on by, right after the rock house on the down hill drop there was a Jeep Grand Cherokee who popped out his driver front spring. I offered help and/or tools but they had it under control . (Note to self get a 60" Hi-Lift asap ) I did end up giving them some zip ties for the windshield washer stuff that was dangling after bottoming out in the wheel well. There is some pretty good erosion that has happened since last season, still stocker friendly with caution. After passing the gate on the Apex side we headed back home via 722.1 to 175.3D to 175.3E to 175.3 on home. This route I posted is very tight and there are times you think you are lost, there are a couple of off shoots that tie back in to the top of Yankee, good to go with someone who knows these little off the beaten path roads/trails. Beware of pin stripping too. Got home around 6:30, cooked up brats over the fire pit with the kiddos, good times! Hopefully my pics will post....
