A good start to a project!

pretty solid. over priced IMHO, but a good start overall. steering needs changed ASAP!
Yeah, if you're planning to strip it down and make a tube chassis buggy out of it. The rockers are rusted out, it's over all appearance is rough and haggard. I'd stay away from that thing.
the rockers arent too bad. that rust is superficial 90% of the time. a steering change and some engine work, that dog will hunt. ive started with far worse Samurais. but for me, its a $5-800 Sami.
thats just me though, sami prices have sky- rocketed in the last 5 years.
Sammy pricing has definitely skyrocketed. I paid 1000$ for my 87 and it was super clean, all original, and low mileage. It was an old guy's RV tow behind vehicle. The 88 I had before that I paid 800$ for and was really clean as well. Not as pristine as the 87 but a lot nicer than that pile they're asking 1500$ for.
