    Default Senseless Vandalism

Woke up at 430 this morning to the cops pounding on the door. Guess some teenagers thought it would be fun to go around and slash the tires on more than 50 cars in my area. The punks were so messed up that they were slashing 2 tires a vehicle and hitting anything on the street and on driveways. Considering I've got 28 pieces of rubber at my house and they only got 2 we faired pretty well. Neighbors didn't, they hit all 3 of his cars with 2 tires a piece. The good news is they have them on camera, and also caught them. Under the age of 17 to boot, so there parents are being held legally liable for the damages. Sucks to be them but at least some justice will come out of it. Just feel bad for the people who can't even leave there houses today to get them fixed.

Crazy - glad to hear contact with the offenders is at hand. Now to see if the parent's are stand-up people to pay the damages of their kids.

Sucks to hear about all the damages, but it's good to hear they caught the punks. It's also great to hear that the parents will be held liable! Maybe they will actually start to parent now...

It's senseless. I always worry about that kind of stuff. Glad they caught them.

Longmont has had the same problem recently. Caught a bunch of teenage boys responsible. Hope it comes back to them later in life.

Is this a new "game" like the "knock-out" game? These kids are gonna end up getting shot.

Well the rough estimate is in, and its at $35,000 of damage to just slashed tires. Not counting smashed windows, broken mirrors, and everything else that they destroyed. My next door neighbors are going to be on channel 7 and 9 news tonight for those of you who are interested in hearing more about it.

That's the odd thing is my neighborhood is almost nonexistent to anyone who doesn't live in it. We're surrounded by industrial parks on 3 sides and strip malls on the leading edge so we don't see a lot of traffic. Our area is also mostly retired folk and young family's so it came as even more of a surprise.

Thats why when we first moved in I palled up with the local "big kid" and told him. he knows everything that happens in the hood, and if anything ever happens to mine or my wifes ride, First place I go is to him !!!
Nobody ever messed with our stuff.

That really sucks, Most likely the parents won't pay which is sad! I bet most of the people who were hit don't have the right insurance to cover the damages and if so their deductable is too high, would be great to see the insurance companies sueing the parents. They'll file bankruptcy or get things lowered if they even go to court. Amazing how its not just kids that don't have much or any respect for other peoples proterty these days, watch a lot of adults in parking lots disrespecting other peoples cars.
