Oh yeah... WELCOME!"
Right on. The Cummins is a headache.. I mean project all it's own. I wanted the high mileage/economy option so I decided on the VE pump 4BT over the P pump. Plus it keeps the mod demons off my shoulders. I will be running a sizable intercooler so I bumped up to a slightly larger turbo. Bolted on a an exhaust manifold from Steedspeed which allowed me to elevate the turbo and move it forward for better clearance between the down pipe and firewall. I did bypass the engine's fuel filter for an FST filter remotely located on the left fender. Aside from those few things the engine is stock.
I literally threw away the peugeot transmission for a Raptor 700 from PATC. I'm using PATC's 4BT adapter plate, flex plate and their recommended low stall converter all piled into a big "easy button" package.
A while back I swapped out the 249 t-case for a 231. Now I'm trading out for a Stak-up Marketing monster box, and it's a monster. It literally weighs as much as the transmission. The size of the t-case caused it's own problems. I had to abandon the Rusty's long arm crossmember and custom build one that allowed for the bigger t-case. I also had to move the transmission mount forward. I ended up using two universal drop crossmembers from Genright. I basically boxed them together and bracketed the whole thing to the old Rulsty's frame side crossmember brackets. It actually turned out great, much to my surprise.
