Jay Leno talks about his burn event.

    1) Blooper: When he talks about leaving the hospital to be with his wife - notice the magazine on his right leg - there / gone / there...
    2) Near the end - after talk of the Carson car, a Today host came back to give credit to Dave's friend that helped put out the fire - I find this good to reinforce the friend's action.

    Jay looks good!

Thanks for posting that. He does look good and he obviously handled it very well. He is an awesome guy and has always kept things in perspective. I am glad he wasn't injured more.

What are the odds of the front range metro area getting a GOOD snowfall this season?

I moved out here expecting some good snow, so I'm hoping we get it! Do the blizzards usually keep to the mountains?

Usually but not always. I can recall two storms that left everything closed down along the front range with 27 plus inches of snow.

We had about 2-3” in Denver at 9 PM. I took the truck out to test the 4WD and tires and I was blown away by the tires! I didn’t even need the 4WD to maintain traction under hard acceleration, they just dug in. This is my first experience with all terrains in snow and I’m very impressed.

Blizzards in the metro area occasionally occur about once or twice every few years. The first one we experienced was the year we were married. 1982 X-mas blizzard. The only people who could get around were true 4x4 vehicles. Busses were jackniffed and abandoned all over the metro. People just made their own path around them to get through. The city was caught off garred and since then have become very efficient getting out front of storms like that. I do remember a year that had about 4 blizzards, 3 of them about a week apart. Here in Colorado snows like that usually are pretty much melted with in a week or two if the forecast isn't usually cold for an extended time.

Ski Cooper is closed today - they decided not to attempt opening.

Yesterday while I was at Steamboat a couple of the lifts higher up closed - it was probably the windiest day I've skied and I'm sure today is worse.

It was -11 at 7am this morning here in Allenspark, and we got about 6” of snow but woke up to clear skies and cold temps. Just got back on Monday and had some plowing and frozen pipes to deal with but the cabin is warm and the fire is a blazin’. Good thing we got back before this cold snap…. I was able to thaw the frozen pipes in a few hours but this could have caused the pipes to really freeze and burst….. good timing and time to winterize the water pipes!

    Merry Christmas!

A note that came my way today...

"Meaning no disrespect to the religious convictions of others, I still can't help wondering how we can explain away what to me is the greatest miracle of all and which is recorded in history.

No one denies there was such a man, that he lived and that he was put to death by crucifixion.

Where...is the miracle I spoke of? Well consider this and let your imagination translate the story into our own time -- possibly to your own hometown.

A young man whose father is a carpenter grows up working in his father's shop. One day he puts down his tools and walks out of his father's shop.

He starts preaching on street corners and in the nearby countryside, walking from place to place, preaching all the while, even though he is not an ordained minister.

He never gets farther than an area perhaps 100 miles wide at the most. He does this for three years. Then he is arrested, tried and convicted. There is no court of appeal, so he is executed at age 33 along with two common thieves.

Those in charge of his execution roll dice to see who gets his clothing -- the only possessions he has. His family cannot afford a burial place for him so he is interred in a borrowed tomb. End of story?

No, this uneducated, propertyless young man who...left no written word has, for 2,000 years, had a greater effect on the world than all the rulers, kings, emperors; all the conquerors, generals and
admirals; all the scholars, scientists and philosophers who have ever lived -- all of them put together.

How do we explain that? ...Unless he really was what he said he was."

    --Ronald Reagan

First off. Marry Christmas every body.
    My three questions are.
1st iF god sent Jesus at this time and ask man to fallow him. Who would believe him ???
2nd Jesus was a simple man who would rather teach on a rock or a modest church...
how long do you think he would stay in most of today’s churches ???
3rd how many politicians would spend millions of our dollars trying to prove him wrong, and how mane people would try to find a way to get rich off of him...
