Waldorf Mine / Santiago Ghost Town (10/12/2012)
My sister that lives in Pennsylvania was in town, so we took our traditional off-roading trip so she could get a little mountain "fix" before heading back to the east coast.
We intended to head out to Breakneck Pass near Fairplay to see if any of the aspens at lower elevation held their colors for her, but we got a late start, so we decided to stay closer to town and go up to Waldorf / Santiago. We saw snow on Argentine, and had driven that already this year, so we opted out of that part of the run.
After getting sleeted on for most of the way up, the sun finally broke out for us while we were driving back down. Saw a few other people on the trail for a Friday mid-morning, but mostly had it to ourselves!
