It is rather funny that every time an incident such as the theater shooting happens gun laws are brought up as not being strict enough. Canada which has the most relaxed gun laws has the least acts of violence. I think that in middle school firearm safety classes should be taught. People think twice about trying to rob a place that is filled with armed patrons.

i had my hunter's safety class in middle school if that counts . dont think they do it anymore though

I got my hunters safety course when I was real young by my dad, never took an actual course. Had to go on many a hunting trip just observing...two years worth. Then when I got pushy about wanting to fire a gun, my dad taught me another lesson. He loaded up the 10 gauge black powder shotgun. I couldn't even lift the barrel, had to rest it across a fallen tree. Needless to say, it knocked me on my tush and dislocated my shoulder. Left him alone about wanting to shoot a gun for a while after that!
