    Default Electrolysis Rust Removal

So I gave this a try on some rusty cast iron table saw tops and it worked great. The hard part was lifting them in and out of the pool by myself. Heres some pics: http://s1207.photobucket.com/albums/...ust%20removal/
The electrode was brand new raw steel when I started, crazy how much gunk they took on.

Its been a few months since I Googled it, I just printed it off so I have it on paper. Its not hard to find info on it though. It really is pretty slick how it works, a quick hit with a wire wheel after pulling it out of the water and its good as new. I threw in some old radius arms since it was set up and they are clean, clean.

WOW!!! In FL we'd mount blocks of zinc onto all of the outboards that stayed floating to prevent them from rusting, it's called a sacrificial anode and you just pick them up at the marine store. I've never seen it used like this before, that is brilliant.

I thought this one was a good read: http://www.oldengine.org/members/orrin/rustdemo.htm

We had a class project some time ago: http://www.frontrange4x4.com/forums/...488#post123488

I have since found washing soda (Sodium Carbonate) at King Soopers, with the laundry soap.
