i've heard something different in the news but we wont know exactly what happened when untill its all settled down.. like I said, i was at work when I saw that..
what the hell is wrong with people??
A lot.
If I had to make a guess, I would say that incidences like this are probably going to start manifesting with a lot more frequency as economic times continue their downward spiral. People get stressed for whatever reason, keep getting stressed, and sooner or later start to come undone. It would be interesting to see a spread sheet or graph on violent crime(of any kind) in the USA from the last 4 years (or from 9/11, for that matter) as compared to previous years, with population growth (because as populations grow, violent crime grows proportionally) taken out of the equation....
And it seems I am wrong, but at the same time, I bet we are going to start seeing more acts of seemingly random violence.
A quick Google search showed a few articles that charted violent crimes and showed a DECREASE from last year to this year. Some articles are showing that we are at almost the lowest we have been in 40 years. Google "Violent crime graphs in the last 4 years". Puzzling to me as well as a whole lot of people much more knowledgeable than I.
I'll see if I can find the statistics I recently read Pete. Showed a decrease in crime, probably because too many people don,t have anything left worth stealing.

Sheesh! It's becoming more & more of a sick, sad, sad, world
Well, I can't see it getting better, at least right now. All the elements are there for more crime, not the inverse. I don't necessarily want to see more crime and violence, either, just making an observation...
Ever read Freakonomics!

Great book! It shows some great examples of why the normal conclusions are not always as they seem.

I think I'll have to check that out.
I was telling Pete about it today, can't vouch for anything after the first book but it's an interesting read.
