I wish I could have made the trip, maybe i will get the chance to next summer!
First glad everyone made it down safe...Looks like a great time was had by all except for the carnage. Great pics Heather! Curious to know how long the round trip was..Last time i went there it was a 18 hr round trip in the snow! Totally sucked!..Btw did the dude in the Grand Cherokee make it up carnage or were those poser pics at the entrance?
The dude in the Grand Cherokee didn't do the whole trail because he wasn't going to be the only rig stuck in the middle of it. It never leaves the pavement anyway. Just there to look cool
I went down that obstacle last time i was there...kind of just have to crawl down then the ass end will drop under you and no doubt hit the bumper...not real bad of a obstacle but it is a bit of a pucker factor
He has a name too.. just saying..
right, because that would require to look at one of the 1000+ posts to find out what it is.. or looking at the caption on the pic.
Nice pics and I like the.video of.the end of carnage. Did anyone make it over the first obstacle? Good to hear kory got his jeep home and I hope I can make that run next time.
Erik, Chris (Scrat) me and whoever else joins, will be running Carnage Canyon start to finish sometime early next season as soon as Chris gets EFI done and i'll figure out what to do not to kill my body. The first obstacle is actually really easy (less body damage) it's the backing out of it in reverse that's the problem haha
That's funny just stay away from my feet and everything will be good LOL
lmao
are you interested in running Carnage?
HAHA...I am getting nowhere near Heather when she is driving off road. I would feel like I had a target on me!

Chris and I have a few more issues to sort out on Frank before Frank is up to running Carnage....like a better front axle, gears and locker in it, tying the rollcage into the frame, stretching the CJ, a few more frame reinforcements, brakes...You know, minor bullshit....

well, we can always drag Frank accross rocks haha (jk)
but yeah, the point was, wherenever his jeep is ready (and mine) we are gonna try to do it all. Already fully aware we are winching the exit pretty much regardless of what you have unless its a full blown buggy lol
Maybe I am getting more comfortable in my new jeep. The guy I bought it from said he had done it in my jeep so I am pretty sure it is fully capable as time gets closer I will let u know I do want to run it but I need to make sure I am ready for it. Even if I'm not I would love to go up with everyone and being there to help spot and what not when are you thinking of running it?
Lol I understand that let me know if u need any help Sundays I'm open unless we are running a trail
Be nice to do a few trails before it breaks, too.
My buddy Bear spent a year building up his Yota. The first trail he ran with it was Carnage. He busted a front axle, trashed the knuckle all to hell, bent a tie rod, and destroyed a gear set by the time he got to the first real obstacle. Too bad he spent all of his money doing this as he didn't have the money or parts to fix it. He later sold the rig because he could afford to repair it. Carnage was run, BTW, against the advice of most of his friends, but Bear 'wanted to do Carnage'. I think he burned up his winch winching out the rest of the trail because it was easier than trying to get back the way he came in. Not the trail you run unless you have time, parts and money to repair what got broke...not to mention getting the rig off the damn trail and back to where it can be fixed...
The first picture is of Bear just before he totally shelled his newly rebuilt front axle. The second picture is where he is going 'WTF?!! was that noise?" and just before he noticed that he front wheels weren't turning too damn well. He winched from this point.
Just trying to keep stuff in some sort of perspective.
That is so true so when the time comes if I don't run it I will at least be up there with u guys as long as it is a Sunday being in the car business it is almost impossible to get a Saturday off so let's plan on a Sunday and we will just get an early start
How strong of a front axle did he build? And how lifted was he on what tires do u remember?
