If we weren't camping I would be there. Barely touched the FOCO area.

I could (?would?) pass on that section.

If most are coming from the south, a Loveland meeting place would shave miles and minutes from the trailhead trip, unless anyone wishes to trek up Rist Canyon, which is decent.

Me, too - but it'll be fun to watch anyone else who's up for playing in it!

I think the guy in the video should have had a strap for a bit of safety but did fine otherwise. The cameraman sure had trouble though, at times he made it look like the Jeep was climbing a 90 degree wall. Search our trail reports and you should fine some videos of FR folks doing it last year or maybe the year before that.

I passed on it then and would again though!

Would going down be any safer than going up? I'm thinking of braking / stopping / runaway issues going down vs. tip over issues going up.

Anyone living in the N/NW end of Denver Town can easily go straight up Wadsworth to Ft Collins to Masonville. That saves about 40 minutes of I25, wander through Ft Collins drive time.

As to the Quarry obstacle exit: I would do that with a strap for safety and it doesn't matter if my rig can waltz it. You screw up there and you simply aren't going to be driving your rig out. My wallet isn't that deep anyway, so I would rather take a strap and not deal with a rig that was ****** due to lack of same. I don't have anything to prove to anyone and 'peer pressure' isn't something I deal with....

Most of the time, I haven't even stuck around to watch other folks play on it very long as I don't feel like becoming involved in some dumbass rescue. I do the same thing climbing: Someone is doing something really stupid, I usually leave so that if they really **** up, I don't feel obligated to help. I have patched up, set bones, stitched up, and carried out enough bodies in my life...

I'm not too familiar with Fort Collins area, so if there is a faster and better meeting area elsewhere lets do it!

IF an alternate meeting location is desired, the K-Mart parking lot on the N/W corner of West Eisenhower Blvd / US-34 & Wilson Avenue in Loveland is a decent spot. Google Map. Again IF it's desired. TBD near trip date. This would be longer for me, but I'd think more would be coming from the south, and it'd be nicer for the majority. Just an option to be discussed.

If this would be easier for everyone, then it works for me!
