Thread: Effin guy at High Country needs to get fired!

  1. #1

    Default High Country

i really hate bi*ching but this requires me to. I'm getting sick of all friggin stores and their crap.

I drove my 30 miles to High Country Performance 4x4 'cause I had set up an appointment with Brady so that we could jack my jeep up on a forklift and try to max it out to see where I should limit my flex to prevent another coil popping out on trial.

I got there, drove to their back yard, Brady got the forklift out and we jacked the jeep up.

New guy (think his name is Jon?) comes out and starts measuring the lenghts that we need for the strap.

he said the strap needed to be 28 inches eye to eye. I got inside to get the straps, Katies shocks, a high pressure power steering line and to inquire about my bumper.

well, i just got home and parked the jeep in the driveway. Before taking any bolts off, i figured let's see what it will look like and how much slack ill have.. Guess what??

my Jeep sists flat on the driveway and i measured 28.5 inches from eye to eye on the shocks... so how the f am i going to install limiting straps that limit my jeeps flex without ANY flex? im thinking the strap needs to be more like 40

here are the pics if you don't get what the issue is..

Yup still no bumper. They only carry up to 28 inch strap. (In store) so if I need a 40inch strap I need to wait.. and the run is this Sunday =(

Lol it wasn't really maxed out, this is just where the coil started to unsettle. I think I got a few more inches of droop lol.. but without a proper strap it doesn't even matter =/

I like the seat belt creativity but if I'm going to spend money to get something that I need, I want it to be the right thing. Hope I don't sound like a d**k lol

Fully understand... just thinking how to get you on the trail this weekend... then if it works out, you can return the straps and tell them you want your money back!

That is very frustrating, hopefully you can get it straightened out. Just remeber to be firm but not an a## and it will get you further. Does Brady have any pull that he could help you out?
