    Default top of Yankee Hill

Messing around on Father's Day with my son. Started from the Alice side, tried to do the "campsite" loop on top. The pic's of the ground are a natural spring in the middle of the "overlook" spot (for Hayduke). This is only one of hundreds, if not thousands of springs up here. Tried to bust through a little drift, got to ambitious, got stuck. Realized I forgot to grab the shovels, as I got stuck, oops! My boy gets out and starts rolling out the straps to use our come-along, which was not enough. Used my hammer as a shovel, to get some rocks under the tires. Still no go. Old Ford Bronco comes along, and walla out she comes. Next item is a winch....

Last pic's are from heading back down into Alice. My boy says, "Drive on that rock Dad", "ok". The rainbow shot is just down the street from our house. Father's Day was a 4 season day, little of everything including snow.

    Thanks for the report, Paul!

See the new Four Wheeler bathroom rag for a good run down on winches. The review and test just about everything out on the market. July issue, 2011.

Hey Paul. Glad to see you got out. It is surprising to still see that much snow on Yankee! Thanks for the report.

Lookd like a fun trip. And there is still a lot of snow on many of the higher altitude trails.

To my knowledge, that may be the truck that was stolen and dumped. Or, they did not see the "No Motorized Vehicles" sign and tried to go down there, yikes!

It has been down there many years, it looks like it came from the top (obviously). Hopefully no one rode down in it, they would probably be dead.

Yeah, the story is that it was stolen and drove off the ledge on purpose, but I do not know for sure.
