Bunce School Road and probably Ironclads
Sunday, Dec. 5
Meeting place: 9 a.m. at the Diamond Shamrock in Lyons (4206 Ute Highway, Longmont), just west of the intersection of U.S. 36 and Colo. 66 (Ute Highway). If you're coming from Denver, the best way is I-25 north to the Highway 66 exit, then drive west until you pass U.S. 36. Station's on the left. Or you can come up 36 through Boulder and take a left on 66.
CB: Channel 4
If you haven't been on Bunce, it's an easy trail that can be fun in the snow. We'll start at the middle entrance off the Peak to Peak Highway, then head up the Ironclads and check it out. In the summer, Ironclads is, at best, moderate, but can turn you back on the steep stuff if the trail's snow-covered and slick. Plenty of places to turn around, though.
I'll definitely go if at least one other person signs up. It it's just me, I'll stay home. As much as I want to get out, I won't wheel alone in the winter.
