    Default Holy Cross

Holy Cross will be the trail to attempt on September 25 2010. That is a Saturday so will be meeting in Downeville at the gas station at 8:00 AM I might have a CB by then so we will say Channel 4. Have never run this trail but I now have a Jeep that should be able to give it a good run, We will be going with a big Dodge named Barbie and he has run Holy Cross many times so he and another very well built Jeep will be the trail leaders.

ran at the 4runner jambo, and made it through french creek with no winch except on the last rock of the exit. my avatar pic is actually in FC. must have revenge. after looking at pics of cleveland rock, and seeing it in person, i have come to the conclusion that pictures make everything look 10 times smaller

Damn....I have prior obligations otherwise I would totally come on this. Scoutman's wedding is that day, and I'm attending and helping setup. I do want to get on this trail, so if someone wants to go another date then I am interested.

    Thumbs up

Well. I have developed quite the death wobble but will have it fixed by the 25th . There is talk of maybe camping on Friday night and hitting the trail earlier but if there is anyone that is going for sure I will meet them unless they would like to camp also.

    Go BRONCOS!

Ramack, Im not sure your rig would make it, its close to the same set up I have and I wouldnt try Holy Cross (guess Ill have a better idea after this weekend). Although, there is a big Dodge going that is set up really nice that would be able to pull you out...

As of right now we are heading up Friday night to camp, then hit the trail early on Saturday. I think the plan is to find a spot near the trail in the White River National Forest to camp, Im not sure where.

John, you need to change the meeting place just in case someone decides to go last minute.

Just the suggestion that I shouldn't go is motivation enough to make me go! Ha!!!

I had some dates mixed up. I'm outta town this weekend for a wedding...I'd rather be on the trail for sure but...

FYI Adam: Last weekend's run was the second that I was able to go on and not spend any time under my K5! It's nice to have something work as expected, ha. Tonight I'm picking up frt & rr 3/4 diffs and housings. They have 4.10s and are replacing the 2.76s that are currently in.

Lookin' forward to the report and pics!

    Rich

Hey, I didnt say that you could not make it, I just meant it would be an interesting ride!

I cant believe you were running 2.76 gears...I know mine gears are stock but they are 3.73....4.10 gears should make a hell of a difference! You should look into some lockers while you are upgrading....

Can't wait to see the pics of this! I don't think I have the courage (or the vehicle) to do that run...but I would have loved to hitch a ride for the experience if I didn't have other obligations! HAVE FUN and be safe!
