Yea, that was my stance as well. Bias in reporting - way too much of it these days. Just give me the facts.
  2. Re: Electric car sales have now surpassed stickshift sales in the

Sign me up for automated driving when I can get in and SLEEP (as in, there's a bed to sleep in) while the car drives through the night to a place 8 to 10 hours distant. Either have the car drive to a...

One question - how many vehicles will have dual dry clutches at the front of an automatically controlled "manual" trans. I can see that, overall, replacing torque converter "automatic" transmissions....

Once the date poll closes will you be putt'n up a trail poll?

Like Sam, I don't think I've ever been to the gulches (and could!).

  8. Re: No-Winter-Maintenance roads north of Red Feather Lakes

Dates / Times to be discussed. Likely a Saturday or Sunday. I could do a weekday with enough advanced schedule. Saturday is my pref.

  9. No-Winter-Maintenance roads north of Red Feather Lakes

I have the itch to check out the no-winter-maintenance county roads north of Red Feather Lakes.

Colo rescue was up there recently. Jump a couple minutes into the vid for an idea:...

6 floor fall from parking garage. Jeep looks to be in better condition than I'd expect. Driver, critical, but alive.

Re: Plagued with Drive Shaft Issues

I like that perspective - If there's room, it could be the long term solution over a limp-along solution.

I enjoy offering ideas and will give a thumbs-up to the better mousetrap.

Re: Plagued with Drive Shaft Issues

You might not _need_ to have a divot for a set screw to push into - possibly just the force (with some lock-tite) would be good enough.

A grinding wheel (Dremel or angle grinder) would likely...

Hmm - a deviation on your drill and pin comment that came around when you mentioned welding. Drill a hole in your removable yoke - 1/4" or larger. Then tack weld into that hole onto the TCase...

    Tossing out some mental ramblings...

Could you place a compression spring on the driveshaft slip yoke? It would put extension pressure to the DS to help push/keep the TCase end in place. I agree -...
