    Re: Effects of less lift

It might have been said and I didn't see it, but rather then stiffer springs I would go with stiffer shocks. This will allow you to keep the articulation and more compliant ride of the softer springs...

  3. Re: Any machine shop guys here? Engine rebuild happening.

I actually was surprised how much of a difference the header made. I had a 2.25" exhaust made to go with it and it definitely holds speed up the hills better and seems to rev more freely. It actually...
  4. Re: Any machine shop guys here? Engine rebuild happening.

I hear ya. I would just say don't expect it to be a night and day difference with the performance stuff. It all helps, but its still a relatively low revving 4 cylinder small truck engine. In combo...
  5. Re: Any machine shop guys here? Engine rebuild happening.

I rebuilt my 22re and it was definitely cheaper to build then buy a whole long block. Most of the places you get them from want a core and its just a pain in the butt. If you take it to a machinist...

Re: Anyone good with carburetors? 87 Samurai

I honestly don't have much to add beyond saying get rid of it. The carbs on the Samurai were the main reason I got rid of it and got a Toyota and it made me never want to own another carbureted car...

    Re: Tintable bed liner

It says in the instructions, but yes, I believe it has to be Urethane paint. If you just want charcoal, you can probably just get black paint and add it in till its close to the shade you want. Just...

    Re: Tintable bed liner

Its still a rough texture, its just not as rough as some of the other brands of bedliner.

Like I said before, I got the 4 bottle kit that they sell, and used 3 of them to do my whole cab and...

    Re: Tintable bed liner

Sorry man....I don't. Most of the truck is relatively smooth with a bit of texture from getting sprayed. Some bedliners have particulate of some sort in it to increase grib but Raptor Liner doesn't....

    Re: Tintable bed liner

I used Upol Raptor Liner on my crawler and its tintable. On my rig its plenty strong and does a great job protecting the body. I'm fond of showing it off by keying it as hard as I can and showing the...

    Re: Spray Can Bed Liner

I personally wouldn't use a bedliner on sliders. It scrapes off too easily and looks ugly quick. The stuff I use is the bottom of the barrel .99 cent black spray paint from Home Depot. If you wheel,...

Re: Will it be illegal to work on your own rig?

This sounds like a similar tact that many professional Software providers like Adobe, AutoCAD and others use. They feel like they still have ownership of the software and they just license you to use...

    Re: toyota desert racer build

All I meant was when you make your upper shock mounts, make room to add a bypass shock in as well as the coilover shocks. If you look in the pictures of the truck the suspension came off of, it has...

Nice...if it was the 3+ kit I would definitely be hitting you up for measurements so I could make some myself. Its hard to feel bad about copying a setup from a company that is out of business.

I don't know how I got it mixed up, but I thought this was on Sunday. I totally am available that day, so I'll definitely be there.
  19. Re: Viewing Party- Aaron Brucker's Episode of Mud Sweat and Gears

Yeah...you definitely chose the bussiest possible day I've had in the last month. I've had a request from 3 different companies to work that day. If it was just a day of work I'd maybe consider...

I agree that modern Subaru's are better left to high speed rally stages and mild rough terrain rather then more chunky offroad terrain. You could probably Solid Axle one or do some crazy long travel...

The Christo thing is supposed to be over the Arkansas River near the top of the Royal Gorge. Its been "in the works" for over a decade now, so I'm not holding my breath.
