If you're up for a hike wheel Bill Moore Lake and hike up Mill Creek to Byron Lake. 12" trout all day.

I've got good u joints in mine but the DC center ball is squeaking like a SOB so I pulled it today.
Looking for a decent one I can put a few thousand quiet miles on while I save the money for a...
Hmm.. Well... Readjusted the belt. Checked all my pulleys, they seem smooth and don't have any play.. I tightened the belt a bit more and drove it around.. I did spray some lube on the A/C...
Mine's a mechanically adjusted idler pulley on the right side... left is A/C then down to the crank.
Serp belt and the idler pulley are a week old.
My fan does not seem like it has an abnormal amount of slop.. Seems pretty solid.. I'm going to take out and run a few errands.. I guess we'll see if the sound comes back.
The water pump does...
Haha, no. The fan.
Does that job require a puller? Would it be noticably loose?
Do you ever run your A/C? I also read that it could be the harmonic balancer.. Which I guess is called something else on the 4.0.
Maybe front pinion seal? That wasn't blown or anything though, I find it odd that it went away when I put it in 4WD and didn't come back when I went back to 2WD... Jeeps man... WTH?
It sounds very amplified for lack of a better term like it's coming from the engine bay, not from under the vehicle.
It will do it while coming to a stop until I'm stopped, and go away again.
Jim- just smooth operation, doesn't change for bumps or anything, the header, downpipe, catalytic converter and muffler are new, checked the rubber bushings the hangers sit on.... Doesn't change...
Well, I'm stumped.. I went out, checked the front driveshaft u-joints. They're totally solid. they're nice greasable units with blue seals.. While I was under there I sprayed motorcycle chain...
That's clever. No manual hubs, driveshaft is spinning in 2WD. Squeak does not happen when reving in neutral/park.
Definitely sounds rotational.. I know the front hubs are good. No clinking or clunking at all. Turning makes no difference. I guess I'm suspecting the alternator or the water pump at this point. ...
I'll add that it doesn't get worse with speed. It's always the same consistent sound.. Forward or reverse. Haven't tried putting it into 4WD to see if that makes a difference..
Maybe just...
Replaced serp belt, replaced idler pulley... Still have the squeak. Does not squeak unless moving above 5-10 mph.. Not effected by turning A/C on... Should I be looking at my front driveshaft or...

Hrmmm.. Well, last call ladies. Heading out a 0900. Have a nice weekend. I have a new phone with a battery that lasts longer than 13 minutes, I'll take some pictures and do a little report.
*Just kidding, it's really 8/29 for the wheelin' part.
Denis, are you the Denis from.. California with the cool toolbox in the back of your JK? We met on slaughterhouse earlier this year?
Likewise, out. No way I can make it work for Thursday. Posted run for Satuday, see calendar for details.
I remember the first time someone told me their cherokee was 2WD. I didn't believe them,...
