    Re: This weekend???

I ran Hackett 2 weekends ago and its not bad at all; not as hard as it looks. The only "hard" part is the ledge at the bottom towards the river, and even that has a bypass.
  6. Re: Alignment shop vs Suspension system install shop help

Mike's Frame and Alignment in COS is an amazing shop - they understand the difference between stock alignments and lifts. Its a long way to go from Denver, but IMO well worth it. The guy knows Jeeps.

I'm a HAM as well (KD0VQN) - I'd be interested in getting comms going with y'all from here in the Springs. I agree the quality is head and shoulders above CB

My buddy and I went up breackneck pass about 3 years ago; its an easy trail, but does get above treeline towards the end. Worth doing at least once.

    Re: Blanca Peak

I did Blanca in my '07 rubicon, 35" tires, no lift, but hi line fenders. Jaws 1 is difficult, Jaws 2 is just down right scary, and Jaws 3 wasn't bad at all, but looks difficult. The lake and views...

Great point Paul, my thoughts exactly: Since when are dirt roads considered "Off-Roading"?

    Re: Introduction

Welcome! I was up on Mosquito Pass for father's day and it was still snowed in at the top; its open now and on my TO DO list this summer as well.

Re: New (bigger tires) and side effects

You won't need to even think about re-gearing till you hit the 35" range on tires. 3.75" backspacing is PLENTY to alleviate any rubbing, and if it did rub, it would only be on the sway bars at full...

    Re: Longwater - Metberry

Glad you had a good time! Chad and I wound up at Upper Geneval Creek. It was rocky and dusty, but the bowl at the top (11,400 ft) still had some snow in it and we got to eat lunch by a snowfield and...

Re: Trails for Beginner with Stock JK Wrangler

If you have a tag on your jeep, you do not need an OHV sticker. It has to be one or the other. Also, that guy that got the ticket hopefully fought that one; Hell, Metberry takes you TO the river, so...

    Re: Metberry Gulch Gate Closed?

I was out there a last month and all the gulches are open. Depending on what plans are made, I'd go to Metberry with you, it is doable in a stock Jeep. There are NO legal bypasses (especially for...

Sounds like some folks will already be there on Friday. Is there an official link up time at the trail head for those of us that might already be camping Friday night?
