We have started a new metal hobby. Started with a piece of 3/4" motor shaft and got close to a finish worthy product. Cut a piece from ZJ axle (old one) to have more material for next attempt but tongs were too small to hold one handed, no worries we just 2 manned it.

Re: The Campfire.
I met a god among men today. Hero amongst us mere mortals.
Left my cell on the side of my pickup, and then drove off. Realized what I had done not two blocks down the road. Turned around to look for it and was nowhere to be found. Stopped back into the shop I was at and asked if anyone turned in a phone. They hadn't but the people behind the counter were nice enough to let me use their phone. When I called my number, someone answered, and explained they saw my phone fall off my truck and stopped to get it and tried to track me down. They then met me were I was and returned it to me. I didn't have any cash on me, so I got his info and his favorite drink and will be getting him a bottle of scotch tonight to drop off at his work tomorrow.

Re: The Campfire.
At a different era, you met the Average Joe. They are still out there - but pickin's seem to be slim.
Good to hear the phone's in your hands!

Re: The Campfire.
My husband left his laptop behind at the Denver airport one time and didn't realize it until he got home. The man who found it happened to live not to far from us. He had managed to locate Britton because he found a business card in the laptop case and called him. He then offered to drive it to our house on his way home. (We tipped him $40 because that is all we had in cash at the time and it was late). The man didn't expect anything but was grateful. There are still good people in the world and it's refreshing!

I found a teenaged girls wallet in my backyard years ago. It had her dl and contact info in it. Called her house and her father answered. He was extremely grateful, duaghter not so much. Oh well. It felt good doing the right thing.

Re: The Campfire.
Hmmm, things are looking up today. Been needing some new tires on the tow rig. Rears are practically bald but the fronts have a bit left. But with all the money I have been shelling out lately with the move and remodel, I have been dreading the $1200 price tag. But then I found some decent condition older BFG KO's today that I had sitting in storage since I got new tires a few times ago. $36 later and a trip to the tire store, I have decent tread on the tow rig again. Much better than the new price tag. Sometimes it pays to be a pack rat

Only so long as you have the space to be a pack rat :D:lmao:
How's the new shop coming, are you up and running quite yet?

And I was going to ask if you purged much during the move, I am guessing probably not much.
