http://www.frontrange4x4.com/forums/...ct-Road-Status

of Taylor Mountain (Bright Trail) and Miller rock the weekend of May 25/26/27.

Trail Damage info:
Bright Trail
Miller Rock

A day has not been set as I'm sitting back to see what weather looks to offer. As time nears and Wx is a bit more known we can decide upon a day.

Bright Trail is easy and short. The trailhead is roughly midway between the northern entrance to Bunce School Road and Allenspark. It is an in-n-out. For Miller Rock (hopefully snow won't be an issue) I'd like to check out the spurs. From the intersection area, I have only explored straight ahead and have left to the right (south). I have never turned left for the dead-enders at the northern end and would like to check'm out at least once. Snow depending.

I plan to call the camp to see if the south gate can be opened for us, once we have a date decided.

For last couple months I have been working on going TBI in my Blazer. I picked up a good running 94 350 TBI with computer and wire harness out of a Suburban. Everything dropped in great even the wire harness. This past weekend I had it up and running ready for a test drive. I was able to go up the street to the store and back with no problems on Friday. Saturday I get in start her up and head to a friends house, I was only there about 15 minutes , go to start the truck....dead battery. Get a jump and get home, turn the truck off then try to restart, again dead battery. My guess was that the alternator was bad so I took the one out of my 94 Chevy 3500 that I know is good. Once it was in I get another jump and let it run for a couple minutes. As I was just getting in the truck to move it it dies and wont start, dead battery again. So my buddy takes me the parts store to test the alts, both are good to go.

So I did some research today and got myself and voltmeter. When I check the battery it reads 11.94, will not turn the motor over. So I jump it with my other truck, as I let it idle I put the meter on the battery, you can watch the volts just drop till the truck dies. So I start thinking that maybe the wire from the alt to the battery might be bad and change it, once again the truck starts with a jump and loses power still till it dies.

So I'm kinda at a loss here ans could use some help. Anyone have any ideas thoughts or the solution to this?

Thanks in advance......

Building tube doors for my Jeep. I got the basic tubes from jeeptubes.com, you get 6 pre-cut and pre-bent tubes in 3 different styles. You have to trim and notch them yourself. I added 1 1/4" angle and 1" flat steel, both 1/8" thick to make the hinges, the pics are pretty self explanitory. I'm using grade 8 bolts to attach the tubes to the hinges as well as welding it up, mostly because I still don't fully trust my welding skills, and partly because I think they'll look good. I'm not done, ran out of time today (it's taking longer than I expected, fabrication is both fun and a beotch) but so far so good.

pic #6 is a mistake I made but didn't notice at that point, the angle is backwards it should be open towards the rear. I didn't catch it until I had already tacked it...
