Doing away with swaybars

So I went out this morning hoping to get the sway bar off my K5. There are only 6 bolts, how hard could it be? I have an 18" breaker bar and my full body weight (220lbs) bouncing on it couldn't get it to move..

So now I have to either find a longer breaker bar, or an impact wrench.

Find a hallow pipe and stick it on the end like a cheater bar. That will give ya more leverage and power.

if all yu are doing is removing the swaybar bring it up to my shop in Longmont. I need a 10 min break anyway

Thanks for your help! I'll have to buy you a beer sometime. The ride improved a ton too, it's a lot less rough- and not too much body roll either.

you moved back to the city? how hard was it removing sway bar?

Chevy swaybars suck. The large bolts on the spring pad are always rusted.

driver side wasn't that bad with the impact. Pass side has to be manual due to little clearance.

Yep, back in the city. Once the bolts were broken loose, they weren't too bad. Like I said, it rides a lot better- not as rigid, but still bouncy. Highly recommended!

Can't wait to test them out Saturday. :drive:
